This training day is for those who have previous experience with MI. Most of training day will be skills practice, with special focus on the fourth process, Planning.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
- Increase confidence in their ability to utilize MI in brief encounters through direct practice
- Identify patient signs for change plan readiness, ways to develop effective change plans, and address planning issues that arise in MI consistent manner
- Gain confidence in MI skills practice through brief introduction to MITI coding system (global scores) to evaluate MI competency
- Make a recording utilizing MI to provide self-evaluation of skills to set future learning goals, optional.
