20 hour training on Training Internal Champions in MI
A one day online course to assist you refresh and deepen your understanding of Motivational Interviewing with a focus on improving your skill level, proficiency and confidence with MI. Course has been awarded 6 CPD points with The Addiction Counsellors of Ireland
This training is open to people who have completed the Introduction / Intermediate Courses and is awarded 6 CPD hours from the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland (ACI). The training is designed over two sessions to assist participants develop their practical application of Motivational Interviewing. Participants will improve skills, confidence and techniques to progress competency through the use of experiential exercises, reinforcing, feedback, guiding and coaching.
This two full day training will discuss effective methods of supervising workers and provides participants with an opportunity to explore creative ways of integrating effective interventions with workers in motivating them. The practice of supervision using motivational interviewing is a worker-centered directive method for enhancing the intrinsic motivation within the worker, by helping them to explore and resolve their own ambivalence.

The experience of parallel process using motivational interviewing in supervision will be illustrated using case presentations and interactive exercises throughout the program.

This training reviews core concepts and skills of MI, foundation counseling, and communication skills that can be used by clinical or non-clinical professionals. Advanced MI concepts introduced after building solid foundation of introductory and intermediate skills.
