More About Me

About Me

One of my primary interests is health (physical and psychological) in regard to body weight and eating behaviours.

I have found that the greatest challenge for me, personally and professionally, is to be tolerant of intolerance. Integrating MI into therapeutic practise and team working, supervision and organisational culture addresses this challenge and is invaluable. It is the ethos that guides the design and implementation of my workshops and my practise in all areas. I am based in Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon but travel frequently to work in all parts of the UK and Europe.

Trainer Statement

I trained as an integrative counsellor in 2004 specialising firstly in complex grief. I have a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice, a BSc in Addictions Counselling and post grad qualifications in Eating Disorder, Supervision, and CBT .  I have an adult teaching qualification. I currently work as a therapist and supervisor for the NHS and am unit leader in 3 MI units and 2 CBT units on the University of Bath's Addictions Counselling BSc organised in conjunction with the charity Action on Addiction. I am a mental health advisor for the CQC in the UK. My main interests are mental and psychological health in relation to body weight and eating. I also specialise in supervising counsellors, working with addictive, compulsive behaviours, impact of loss, and teaching new therapists and training teams to work collaboratively with clients/patients and with one another. I have designed workshops/trainings of various lengths, all taking into account the latest evidence regarding the effectiveness of MI and other therapies.

Training Interests
