More About Me

About Me

A registered nurse since 1982, Ann brings a wide range of medical experiences to her training.  One of the original Health Coaches at a Medical Service Organization of 30+ primary care clinics serving 125,000 Medicare risk members, Ann helped introduce the Chronic Care Model (2007) and role of the Health Coach as one who uses the language of MI to empower patients with chronic disease to make important changes to improve their health.  As MI Staff Development Instructor for over six years, she was instrumental in developing and delivering evidence-based MI training to health coaches, managers, physicians, clinic personnel, peer mentors and human resources.  In 2011, she led an initiative for an ongoing MI development program (Coach 2 Coach) to prevent skill regression, advance skill level to achieve beginning proficiency and competency, and ensure fidelity across 40 health coaches in 30 clinics in 4 geographic locations.  Ann attended MINT in 2012.  In October, 2012, Ann was one of 30 nurses awarded United Health Care’s SAGE of Clinical Nursing Awards for her groundbreaking work in training other nurses to empower patients to make positive changes in their health using the skills and techniques of MI.   With a BA in Psychology and a BS in Nursing, Ann feels that her work as a health coach and trainer is the ultimate conversion of her education, nursing experience and passion.
