About Me
Brian Serna is the owner of Serna Solutions LLC a group practice for behavioral health providers in Santa Fe, NM. Additionally, he provides training, consultation and coaching services to programs around the world. Some of his specialties are working with addictions, depression and couples counseling. His expertise in cultural competency and Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) has allowed him to train and consult with programs in Canada, Ireland, Wales, and Australia. Addictionally, he has offered training in MI to six different Native American tribes in North America. He excels at designing programs that implement EBPs with individuals who are resistant, under legal mandate to attend treatment and those with co-occurring disorders in ways that are culturally meaningful. 
 
Brian Serna is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and a Motivational Interviewing Supervisor Trainer (MIST). He has provided MI training to professionals from an array of discipines including peer support specialists, addiction counselors, psychotherapists, nurses, dentists, fire fighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), psychologists and psychiatrists. 
 
Mr. Serna has received training and supervision in the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training (CRAFT) directly from Dr. Robert J. Meyers. 
 
In addition to his managing his practice, Mr. Serna is currently involved in consultation with the State of New Mexico, three Native American Tribes and teaches at the University of New Mexico and Southwestern College.
