This hands on course helps you to understand the coding process of the MICA (Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment). It helps you answer the question; Does the communication method of this practitioner demonstrate a level of competency representative of Motivational Interviewing (MI)?

Motivational Interviewing Fidelity Coding Training with the MITI 4.2.1

An 18-hour, 5-part interactive online training in the use of the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity version 4.2.1 (MITI 4.2.1) fidelity coding manual and MI-consistent skills coaching approaches.

Motivational Interviewing Fidelity Coding Training with the MITI 4.2.1

How do we know it’s really good MI? Brewer & Bristow Training is excited to offer this highly interactive, online course walking participants through use of the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity 4.2.1 Coding Manual (“the MITI”) for fidelity coding of audio recordings. We’ll also practice providing helpful and MI-consistent coding feedback for MI learners and discuss ways to grow in coding proficiency and reliability.

Our Certificate of Intensive Training in Motivational Interviewing is a 22 hour, semester-long course founded on the principles described by Miller & Rollnick. The evidence tells us that clinicians only begin to successfully use MI when they have had opportunities to engage in the deliberate practice of Motivational Interviewing.
