MI Introductory at NYU Langone Medical Center
Dr. Bukky Kolawole is hosting an introductory Motivational Interviewing (MI) training on Thursday, February 14th, Friday, February 15th, and Saturday, February 16th at New York University's Translational Reserach Building. This training is appropriate for professionals/professionals-in-training who have had no prior or some exposure to Motivational Interviewing techniques. People whose work involves helping clients achieve behavior change, ( i.e. Coaches, Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Nurses, Case Workers, Outreach Workers, Dietitians, Therapists, Clergy, Personal Trainers, Probation/Parole Officers etc.) will benefit most from this intensive MI training.
What?
During the introductory MI training we will review all you need to know about the theory and principles of MI. Through the use of presentations, videos, highly interactive exercises and demonstrations, the trainer will guide participants in learning the technique, style and spirit of MI.
All participants in the Motivational Interviewing seminar will have ample opportunity to practice their motivational interviewing skills with the support of the trainer, using “real play”. With participants consent, participants will receive individualized coaching on how to use the Motivational Interviewing OARS skills.
When?
The training will be held on Thursday, March 7th and Friday March 8th from 8:00am until 5:00pm.

The workshop will be hosted at 1 Park Ave, New York, NY 10016. The cost of the two and half-day training is $560 (early bird registration $475 by January 20, 2019).
