More About Me

About Me

I am currently serving as the Innovations Director for the Oregon Primary Care Association, the membership association for Oregon's 33 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), a network of non-profit clinics that provide primary care services to our state's most vulnerable populations.  In addition to our network commitment to providing high quality medical services, we are exploring new ways for the health care delivery system to improve population health outcomes by addressing the Social Determinants of Health.  We are excited to be trying on the use of design thinking and innovation methods to redesign the care and services that safety net health systems provide to their patients.

My background includes extensive work with safety net primary care clinics on Patient-Centered Medical Home implementation and adoption of patient-centered communication skills, promotion of evidence-based practices for Substance Use Disorder treatment, mixed methods research and the development and implementation of health promotion programming. I learned motivational interviewing in order to provide health coaching and health promotion classes for a worksite wellness program developed at OHSU. As a health coach, I worked with clients on a wide variety of health promotion topics, including smoking cessation and self-management of chronic health conditions. My professional training includes a Masters in Public Health and certificates in quality improvement methodologies, facilitative leadership and yoga instruction.
